On Monday, an earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale rattled Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh district, with the epicenter located in Nepal. Fortunately, no casualties or property damage were reported, according to PTI.
The quake struck at 4:17 p.m., sending tremors through Dharchula, Didihat, and Bangapani areas in Pithoragarh district, as confirmed by the disaster management office.
Earlier in the day, Nepal had experienced a 5.2 magnitude earthquake at 4:16 p.m., with its effects also felt in Delhi. This incident comes as the region continues to deal with the aftermath of a significant 6.9 magnitude earthquake that occurred on the previous Friday.
It’s worth noting that Delhi-NCR had experienced strong tremors on October 15, similar to those felt on October 3.
The National Centre for Seismology reported, “Earthquake of Magnitude:5.6, Occurred on 06-11-2023, 16:16:40 IST, Lat: 28.89 & Long: 82.36, Depth: 10 Km, Region,” in a post on Monday.
